The qPCR efficiency calculator converts the slope of a log dilution standard curve into per-cycle amplification efficiency. A slope near -3.32 corresponds to about 100% efficiency, meaning the target approximately doubles during each cycle.

How to Use the qPCR Efficiency Calculator

    Run a standard curve from serial dilutions of your template, ideally across the range used by your samples.

What PCR Efficiency Means

PCR efficiency describes how much target DNA increases each cycle during the exponential phase of qPCR. A perfect reaction doubles target every cycle, which is reported as 100% efficiency. Lower efficiency can suggest inhibitors, poor primer design, degraded template, or suboptimal reaction conditions.
