Choose the Right Photosynthesis Calculation
A classroom problem may only need oxygen produced divided by time. A lab report may need CO2 uptake, leaf-area normalization, sample mass, or gross photosynthesis. The light-energy context answers a related but separate question: how much light power and leaf area would be needed to supply a target energy demand.
- Use the main calculator for lab rate: gas change per time.
- Use leaf area or mass normalization when comparing different samples.
- Use the light-energy context only to discuss irradiance, efficiency, and energy capture.
